Besides going to school, what do you do? (work, hobbies, family care, passion): I work at a grocery store, I enjoy going outside and playing any sport. I love watching tv shows and anime. I read a ton of mangas. I am the oldest brother of 3. I love spending time with them. My passion is to become successful in life and be grateful for everything that comes my way

What are your future dreams and goals?: My future goal is to become financially stable. I also dream of building a home in Mexico where all of my other family members live to be with them whenever I feel like traveling home.

It would release stress of my back with having to pay out of pocket for books, school supplies and items I need for school. Besides going to school, what do you do? I work at kwik trip part time and move into full time during my break so I can save up some emergency money for college and I make music on the side with my friends.

What are your future dreams and goals? I want to open a dispensary because I want there to be a better alternative for drugs. I know it's very controversial but I've seen my friends fall into addiction that later took their lives. I want there to be a program where people actually care about addicts and understand the difficulties that they have to deal with on a daily basis.

How will the Rubin for Kids Scholarship help you move closer to achieving your dreams and goals? If I get this scholarship I believe it's gonna motivate me to really go for my goals. My mom wanted to take out loans and get second job just in case I don't get a scholarship, and that's why I adjusted my hours and tried so hard in school because i've seen her work enough, she does so much for us it's literally crazy. So if I earn this scholarship it would not only benefit me, but it would also benefit my family and all the people I get to help in the future.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work and/or school? If i'm not in school or working I like to make music. in 8th grade I met my best friends because we both loved music. I've seen my friends grow so much in music that it's insane when we listen to old stuff we recorded compared to now and it blows my mind how well we got with mixing, vocals, and our flow. This is one dream that I have as a side quest for me. I take it pretty serious but it's not my main goal.

How would you encourage others to achieve their dreams and goals? I've had so many setbacks in such a short period of time that I never thought I would/could recover from, but I did while earning dual credit.

There is nothing but yourself that can hold you back because that's how I learned by holding myself back. All the setbacks that you've had in your life you must use as motivation to keep getting back up and fighting. I've set my goal I just need to achieve it.

If you don't have the best grades, then don't feel the need to please others by having the best grades. If you know that you're trying your best to get good grades then that's the only thing that matter. Grades dont define your smartness.

What else should we know about you?: I want you guys to know that I don't have the best grades but I also don't have the worst grades. My grades may not reflect my full potential but I am always trying my best and I will succeed in accomplishing my goals.

What are your future dreams and goals?: I want to complete my program, transfer to a UW campus and finish earning my bachelors degree. I want to work a research analyst or technician for a nonprofit organization. I want to find a job that I love that allows me to experience nature and help.

I have a gap between my tuition and student loans and this has helped me close that gap. I will still have to work to pay for my tuition but this will relieve a lot of economic stress for me and my household and allow me more time to focus on my studies.

How would you encourage others to achieve their dreams and goals?: self doubt can be your biggest obstacle. Believing in yourself and surrounding yourself with other who believe in you can help you achieve things you’ve never thought possible.

What else should we know about you?: I spent a significant portion of my senior year partaking in student activism. I was the GSA president at my school and involved in a few other organizations with the purpose of helping obtain equal and equitable rights for all inside and outside of the school building

Besides going to school, what do you do? (work, hobbies, family care, passion): Im a teen mom so I do spend most of my time with my daughter and I also do participate in youth group called Re-Generación at Centro Hispano.

What are your future dreams and goals?: I want to graduate in cosmetology and work in a beauty salon and just learn about how to run a salon to open my own salon and start investing into other business and keep making money outta that. Eventually the goal is to not have to work for no one but for myself in my own business.

How will the Rubin for Kids Scholarship help you move closer to achieving your dreams and goals?: This helping me get certified in cosmetology and go through my schooling without having to pay for it all outta pocket while also having to juggle being a parent and having to keep my daughter on a tight budget.

How would you encourage others to achieve their dreams and goals?: Keep pushing forward regardless of the circumstances. I had many odds against me but I kept pushing and I still do. I had my daughter at 16 years old, undocumented, I had to be a parent and a high school student and still managed to participate in activities with youth my age in the community. I kept pushing for myself and my daughter because I know her and myself deserve better.

What else should we know about you?: I am so thankful for this. Thank you for helping me be one step closer to giving my daughter the life she deserves and for giving me a chance.

Besides going to school, what do you do? (work, hobbies, family care, passion): I work at Walmart in the Online Grocery Pickup department, and have been there for over a year and a half. I also regularly go to the gym to workout. One of my other hobbies is collecting and restoring sneakers, particularly Nike and Jordan sneakers.

What are your future dreams and goals?: I plan on working in real estate, and eventually using my business degree to crest my own real estate business. I want to have have a nice home in a safe neighborhood for my family.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work and/or school?: Like I’ve mention before, I love going to sneaker events and or stores to look around and possibly buy a new pair for myself. I also love spending time with my friends, girlfriend, and my family.

How would you encourage others to achieve their dreams and goals?: I believe that people can do anything if they really stick to their goals and don’t give up. Determination can be a very hard skill to learn and master, but once you do, it’s one of the most important things to have in your skill set.

What else should we know about you?: I am hard working, dedicated, and care a lot for the people in my life. I often put others before myself. I feel that I am very outgoing and well spoken.

I am invested in being a proud community helper; I currently work a side gig at a landscaping company that allows me to earn some income, but also it allows me to continue to give back to the beautiful community of Dane County. My passion is to help people, whether it is to assist them or be there to attend them for their needs, I will always do what I can to help others, because I know what it is to be in need of even the smallest of things, and not to be helped. It is a soul crushing feeling, and being able to see the smiles of happiness and satisfaction that is in peoples faces after you've helped them on what they needed, it is an unforgettable sight.
